Leo FinucaneFinucane Films is owned by Leo Finucane in Keylod, Moyvane and he has been creating films for over 30 years. Leo's first movie was The Gortagleanna Tragedy and was launched to the public with simply a projector and screen.

Over the years the standard has improved immensely using state-of-the-art production equipment in his Moyvane Film Studio. He has done all this without receiving any funding for his film-making, bar a small grant from the Kerry County Council Arts Funds.
The Hard Times series which were written, produced and directed by Leo have already been screened by RTE, TV3 and SKY.

Taigheen's Farewell
Leo's new movie Taigheen's Farewell is now available for purchase online. The film is set in the 1950s and tells the tale of an old man and his son living in the countryside and how an insurance agent and his wife con them of their money. They set up the old man to fake his own funeral for the insurance money but things go very wrong from there. It was filmed around Moyvane, Knockanure and Athea and includes an all-star cast of publican and journalist Billy Keane, Glin councilor John Sheahan, Frances and Patsy Kennedy, John Bosco McMahon, Donal Woulfe, Larry Burke, Denis Mahony and Jerry Murphy.

The film was premiered at the Tintean Theatre in Ballybunion on Friday, November 20th with Weeshie Fogarty as the MC on the night.
